The claim of reducing recoil is true, but I really didn't have a recoil problem with my Tippmann...this just seemed like a cool product that I could customize my marker with. The statement that a aftermarket spring may be necessary is an UNDERSTATEMENT. The Tippmann relies on the impact of the rear bolt against the air valve to open the air valve which in turn shoots the ball forward and recocks the marker. With the stock spring, I couldn't get 200fps. I started out with light weights and eventually moved up to utilize all the weights included in the package (which kinda offsets the purpose of having a light weight rear bolt), and I still could not get over 200 fps. I purchased a spring kit separately and used the fastest spring in the kit and was still not able to get up to the normal 280 fps (It did get close...240 to 260fps). I finally put my stock rear bolt back in and now have no velocity issues, but I'm stuck with a $50 paperweight.
