The most important piece of equipment that you can purchase in order to play paintball is your paintball mask. These protect your face, ears, and most importantly, your eyes. When you choose a paintball mask, you want something that will be comfortable. If they don't fit right, they can fall off while playing or you might even be tempted to take them off your head while on the field. Once you find the goggles for you, you will want to pay attention to the lens. Fogging on the field can ruin your day. If you fog up, then you cannot see where you are going and you cannot see where you are shooting. Thermal resistant lenses have become the norm in paintball, but they WILL fog in extreme conditions. The only way to prevent fogging is by having goggles with a thermal lens. Lenses should also be replaced about once a year and should only be cleaned with warm water.
