Shoulder Stock Installation on Tippmann and US Army Paintball Guns Last Updated: 10/04/2012
To assemble a stock on a 98 series gun, please follow the disassembly procedures in your gun manual. You will need to remove the End Cap and insert the stock into the slots where the End Cap was. You need to align the tab on the top of the stock with the slot in the receiver halves to match the spring hole(s) correctly with the body and spring(s).
If you have an older 98, pre ACT, your receiver halves may not have the alignment slot milled into them. The new style stocks have a top alignment tab. You may need to remove this tab to get the stock to fit the older style. Easily done with a hobby knife.
To assemble a stock on an A-5, please follow the disassembly procedures in your gun manual. You will need to remove the 2 rear Push Pins, then the End Cap. Make sure the Guide Pin and Drive Spring insert into with the hole in the front of the stock when installing the stock into the body, then re-install the Push Pins.
To assemble a stock on an X-7, please follow the disassembly procedures in your gun manual. You will need to remove the 2 rear Push Pins,
then the End Cap. For X-7, non Phenom, make sure the Guide Pin and Drive Spring insert into
with the hole in the front of the stock when installing the stock into
the body. Then re-install the Push Pins.
To assemble a 98 Custom stock on a U.S. Army Gun (Alpha Black, Project Salvo, Carver One), please follow the disassembly procedures in your gun manual. You will need to remove the End Cap and insert the stock into the slots where the End Cap was. Depending on the version of you have (ACT, etc.) you may need to align the slot on the top of the cap and the spring hole(s) correctly with the body and spring(s).
To assemble a U.S Army stock on a 98 series gun, please follow the disassembly procedures in your gun manual. You will need to remove the End Cap, and replace it with a TA06006 End Cap (now included with some stocks). The U.S. Army stock front end has male pins that will slide into the female slots on the End Cap. Install the Stock Mount Bolt.
